Alpaca Fiber is classified as a rare specialty fiber. It is both more lustrous and stronger than mohair, five times warmer than sheep wool fiber & as soft & delicate as the world’s finest fibers. With 22 natural colors of alpaca fleece the fibers can be blended to create a plethora of natural colors. Its hollow fiber contributes to the creation of lightweight apparel with a very high insulation value. Alpaca is easily dyed & does not itch, tear, pill, stain or create static & is generally non-allergenic.

Alpacas are one of the four main species of New World Camelids. It resembles a llama in superficial appearances, but is considerably smaller. Alpacas unlike the llamas are not used as beasts of burden & are valued only for their fine, soft fiber.
