Description

Huiros are important to the indigenous music of the Andes & are traditional Percussion instruments from the Andes. They have a rich pre-Colombian tradition. Huiros have parallel crevices along the top which are scratched back & forth with a metal fork or wood stick to make a rhythm. The gourd is hollowed out & carved with an Andean scene. There are two holes to be able to hold the huiro with finger & thumb while being played.
